The practice was started by Dr Len Weinstein in Benmore Gardens in the late 1960’s. He moved the practice to Sandton City when the 1st phase was completed. Dr Weinstein was one of the first tenants in Sandton City and he received an award as the longest single tenant. Dr Weinstein retired when he turned 70 years of age thus the partnership was dissolved on the 30th of November, 2010. Dr. J Hoosen currently runs the practice. He worked at a private practice in Benoni. He was also in Canada at Winnipeg for a year at a family practice. There he worked in the emergency room. He gained his experience in aesthetics medicine from Canada. Dr J Hoosen joined the practice in 2004, he became a partner in 2006. The Family Medical Clinic looked after the Quantas, British, Elel and Malaysian airlines. It presently looks after the Egypt and Saudi airlines.

The Family Medical Centre offers a variety of medical, beauty and travel clinic services, all under one roof. The doctor as well as the staff place an important emphasis on treating both adults and children alike and we encourage a family-friendly medical environment. Family Medical Centre is a well-established and long standing medical centre based in Sandton City.
